Kate's debut album, 'Whispering Tides'
14 songs from the Isle of Man, rarely heard or recorded, this album has been a life goal of setting down these beautiful folksongs in their native language, Manx Gaelic. Kate and award winning producer Chris Craker have breathed new life into these songs and her debut album sparkles and floats like the mist on the hills and the fire of the sea God Manannan.
Soon to be released worldwide, conjuring visions of Lord of the Rings and hints of Hanz Zimmer's beautiful soundtracks, these are real songs, hundreds of years old and passed down historically by the singing of them rather than being written down.
Due for release in August 2017, the album is already causing a stir in the music industry as something beautiful and new and real.
Culture Vannin, the Isle of Man's Cultural Heritage Society has been a huge support in this project, the Isle of Man has produced some great legends, the BeeGees, the TT races, the cat with no tail, Norman Wisdom, the list goes on... but Kate is the first person to bring these beautiful songs into the 21st century. and they transport you to a world where Gods of the sea rule and the fairies dance in the glens.
